La Madeleine and Daddy's Latest Adventure Pix

Daddy just got back from Paris and the Middle East. On my last morning in Paris, I got to spend lots of time shooting Madeleine photos since the Church of La Madeleine was just a few blocks from the hotel.

Here's the actual Madeleine below.....

And if you're in Paris, you might as well check out other nearby bastions of French culture - such as Beirut!

Bonjour!

Bonjour from Paris! Daddy has to be here for a business trip, which is great in many ways because Daddy has had to go to far worse places than Paris in June during his job.

But it's still tough to be away from home. I walked by the Church of La Madeleine this morning (English description here) and it seemed like there was a shop or a store that said "Madeleine" about every half a block or so, which made me miss my girls even more.

I went out this morning to buy a tie since I forgot to pack some for this trip, and I couldn't resist stopping in a baby store to buy Madeleine the latest in high baby fashion, despite the brutal exchange rate between the dollar and the Euro. Of course, with my badly mangled French, I thought the pricetag was for both pieces of the outfit - rather than just for one piece of it, so the exchange rate wound up hurting even more when I went to sign the credit card receipt. Let's just hope the little girl doesn't poop her way through this particular outfit and that she can fit in it until she's five!

In the meantime, here are a couple of random updates/observations since my last post.
  • The little one has a new entertainment outlet -- going to the kiddie pool at the local community center. According to Hannah and quoting Grandma Kay, she LOVES it. She gets a big smile and kicks her feet and loves to splash -- just like her bathtime, which has become quite an interactive experience ever since she discovered her feet. I'll try to post some pictures of her new bathing suit when I get back.
  • My ankle continues to get better and better every day, and the physical therapists are pretty pleased with my progress. But there's something about 8 hours on a plane that is still unpleasant for my boo boo.
  • With so many people using Bluetooth headsets for their phone calls these days, it seems like you see people who are talking to themselves everywhere you go -- until you get a look at their other side and see the earpiece. This morning, I saw several of both within a two block radius. From my viewpoint, the dividing line between figuring out who is mentally unbalanced and who is merely self-important has never been thinner!

Yes - Even More Baby Boatride Pix

Courtesy of our neighbor, Jill, we have more photos from our baby boat ride a few weeks ago.

Here's the happy family.

Here we are with our friend Matt, who was in town visiting from Michigan that weekend.

Daddy hopes that this midriff baring by the parents isn't how Britney Spears got started.
