Quelle Artiste!

Her style is best described as postmodern abstract expressionism and her preferred medium is washable crayola paint - our girl the artiste!

Futbol

Like most good old fashioned red blooded Americans, Madeleine isn't much into "futbol" - except when our neighbor Will is playing....

California Beach Babe

We've found a new favorite beach (45 minutes or less driving category) - Manhattan Beach just south of LAX. Great California scenery with surfers and a pier and a small town feel to it.

Our girl has gone completely native and is now a total California beach babe, playing in the sand, cheering on the surfers and letting her blonde hair go wild.

Horsepower

Madeleine is becoming quite the equestrian - her longest outing yet, a total of 8 laps around the track at Griffith Park in Los Angeles. OK, so it's not Churchill Downs, but not bad for a two year old with no horse skills on either side of her family

Disney Friends

Madeleine had a chance to have breakfast with some of her favorite Disney friends a few weeks ago - lots of hugs and kisses all around!

After her recital today, Madeleine got her favorite thing - a bouquet of ROSES.

Dance Dance Dance 3

Finally figured out how to get the full recital online - click here!

She didn't do too much actual dancing but still had a good time...

Dance Dance Dance 2

Getting ready before the big recital....

Dance Dance Dance

Not much actual dancing on her part, but Madeleine made it through her second dance recital. Unfortunately due to technical difficulties (user error), the main video clip of the actual recital itself is too big for Blogger - so I'll have to get creative about posting it.

In the meantime, here's Madeleine taking the stage.

Dance Class

We all went to Madeleine's dance class last Friday. The dance instructor must have been a cat herder in a previous life - that's the most relevant skill for trying to teach dance class to 20 toddlers.

Madeleine warmed up with Mommy.

Then it was time to line up for dancing while Daddy looked on in anticipation.

Time to wait our turn.

Madeleine experimented with a new position for her tutu.

And she made sure to wash the floor before class was over.

Hanging with the G's

Madeleine loved spending a few days with Grandma and Grandpa G - even just hanging out with them at the house.

A Day at Disneyland

We had some oldsters from back East come out to visit us in California over Memorial Day weekend. When we asked what they wanted to do on their first visit to SoCal, they said "Disneyland"- and Madeleine was more than happy to oblige.

We started our day with an exotic Jungle River Cruise.

Then we saw some scary Pirates at New Orleans Square - but Daddy was there to scare them off

Then it was time for Madeleine to catch up with her good friends Minnie and Mickey.

And then back through Main Street USA en route to Disney's California Adventure (and, more importantly, lunch)

But of course, the slide at Goofy's house is always the best part of Madeleine's visits to Disneyland.

Horseplay

Madeleine used a recent Daddy Day to get reacquainted with some four legged friends at Griffith Park. She look like such a big girl in her riding jeans.
