Paid a quick visit to San Diego on Sunday to visit Uncle Matt, who was in town for a conference. The girl loved Balboa Park and the Hotel del Coronado and especially enjoyed the fresh sea air.

Couch Potato
Not exactly a couch potato, but our girl has a new game to play when she's near the couch. And yes, that's a shiner on the bottom of her chin from taking a tumble.
Picky Eater
Someone's palate has become a lot more refined or finicky over the last month or so. She will often reject all of the mealtime options we prepare for her - even if there are 3 or more choices (this morning she rejected 5 different breakfast items.
Apparently this is part of the drill for toddlers, although I hope we don't have to show her a particular food 10 times before she takes it.

New Video!
Ever since Daddy and Mommy upgraded to iPhones, we've been relying on them almost 100% for pictures of Madeleine that we post on the blog. The convenience factor is great - we don't have to tote the digital camera around, we can upload straight from our phones, and we're able to capture moments that we otherwise would miss.
But it does have some downsides. In addition to sometimes suboptimal shutter speed and no ability to zoom, our iPhone 3G's don't have video cameras. So we miss out on sharing video clips with you. Yes, we do have a video camera, but it's cumbersome to lug around and we have to hook it up to the computer at home to pull video off - a very time consuming process.
Rather than biting the bullet on upgrading to the iPhone 3GS - which does have video - Daddy discovered that his work BlackBerry Bold 9000 has a built in video camera. This despite having a browser that is just this side of the stone chisel and cuniform tablet as an information sharing device. Who knew?
So, without further ado, a new video clip of Madeleine playing with her favorite new toy - the toothbrush.

Strike a pose! Time for Madeleine to show off her fall fashions.
Madeleine modeled her casual fall look at Descanso Gardens - the call from the Ralph Lauren catalogue can't be far behind.

Proper Dental Care
Madeleine takes dental care very seriously and knows all the steps of proper tooth brushing, from toothpaste application to brushing like a big girl.
